Abstract
For any organisation, the human resources is the major determinant of it's
effectiveness.
An important aspect of personnel policies of an efficient and effective
organisation is the way personnel are acquired and developed.
In PAN Recruitment process starts with internal and external
advertisements of new posts and/or vacant posts.
As applications are received, candidates are short listed for interview and
successful candidates are offered employment.
Upon selection; staff is required to go through some training.
PAN has a general policy of maintaining continuos training programmes
to develop the staff intellectual capacity and performance skills.
Every member of staff stands a chance to benefit from courses both
within and outside the country.
Both primary secondary source methods were used in the research
methodology. The primary source methods were sourced through the use
of questionnaires and personal interview, while the secondary source
data were gathered from printed documents such as Annual reports
policy statements, Regulations governing the conditions of service and
circulars as they relate to recruitment, selection and staff development
matters.
Description
Being a Project submitted to the Postgraduate School Ahmadu Bello
University Zaria, in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the award of
the Degree of Master of Business Administration (MBA).
