Credit is one other medium of transacting business in modern time. This study is therefore primarily concerned with the management of Risk ajid in particular advances, loans and acoounts receivable in National "Bank of Nigeria (N.B.N). The Bank's problem has been that of fund, mismanagement "' had debts situations in most of its branches. In an attempt to overcome and resolve this unfortunate situation, the research tried to examine the systems through which the profit could be maximised and bad debts or losses be minimised. It succeeded in identifying some of the bank's shortcomings. The research was able to come out with some positive recommendations that could lead to a better management of risk in Commercial Banks in Nigeria in general and National Bank in particular.en_US
