Abstract
ABSTRACT
The problem which this study deals with is that of poor or low
financial motivation among the workers of the Nigeria Airways in the period
under study and how it affects the attitudes to work and the results of such
attitudes.
OBJECTIVE
Four major purposes of the study are to determine the extent of
financial motivation, the degree of performance of workers of the Airline, the
extent to which the poor or low financial motivation affect the performance of
the workers of the Airline and finally make some- suggestions.
HYPOTHESES
Two alternative hypotheses were formulated for this study.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
For the research methodology questionnaire and interview methods
were used to collect primary data. Free random sampling and sample and
sampling techniques were used to select the sampling size for Questionnaire
distribution and interview respectively.
DATA ANALYSIS
Simple percentage and T-test were used as statistical tools to analyse
the data collected from primary sources and to test the hypotheses formulated
res pec lively.
FINDINGS
Based on the analyses for the data some findings were made which
were, financial motivation in the Nigeria Airways is of very low level, the
level of job performance of the workers of the Nigeria Airways 1983 - 1993 is
very low, the low level of financial motivation significantly affects the
workers performance on their jobs and that just as financial motivation is very
low, all other aspects of motivation are low.
