dc.description.abstractThis study Human Resources Development (HRD) As A BUSINESS PLANNING STRATEGY; A CASE STUDY OF KADUNA REFINING & PETROCHEMICAL COMPANY LTD is meant to articulate the hitherto dormant Human Resources Development and Business Planning Policies with a view to responding to current and future challenges. The study assesses Human Resource Development policy in relation to the organizational goals and the impact of Human Resources Development Programme of the organization. It also identifies the defect with a view to suggesting solutions. Human resources is the prime agent of production and development processes in every organization or country. It is contended that people plan and implement the plans for every plan to be effective, those who are involved in setting up the plans and their executions must have the knowledge, the ability and the skills to carry out the task. This is where human resource development comes in. From the questionnaires issued, and interviews conducted it is found that there are some serious defects with the policy implementation for example staff are not nominated for relevant courses, training is not being adequately financed, courses are not monitored This research work make the following recommendations; adequate attention should be paid to human resources development, staff should be encouraged to pursue training for self improvement, the effort of affiliation with relevant training institutions should be actualized, staff career development should be monitored through appraisal etc. The study is structured on five chapters, chapter one deals with the introduction, chapter two discusses the literature review, chapter three research methodology, chapter four findings and analysis and lastly chapter five deals with the summary recommendations and conclusions.en_US
