Abstract
This Study presents the empirical research findings relating to the practice of Capital Investment Decisions by Manufacturing Companies in Nigeria with special focus on United Nigeria Textile limited, Kaduna. This study begins with the general introduction in Chapter One stating the basic objective of the investigation and c r i t i c a l l y examines the practice of capital investment decisions by Nigerian This Manufacturing Companieso It also intends to identify and probe into questions such as, how capital investment proposals are generated and progressed and the techniques used in the evaluation and r i sk analysis of capital investment proposals This enables opinions to be formed about the hypotheses of the study whether or not majority of Nigerian Manufacturing Companies:- (a) Encourage origination of capital investment proposal ideas from every level of personnel and several other sourceso (i x) (b) Use modern sophisticated techniques in the evaluation and risk analysis of capital investment proposals. This study therefore aimed at (1) Considering the theoritical foundations for a sound economic approach to capital investment decisions, and (2) The capital investment decisions of United Nigeria Textile Limited in order to ascertain whether, their capital investment decisions conform reasonably with the theoritical standards as can be expected in an ideal situation
