dc.description.abstractThis study was carried out to examine the problems associated with the collections, funding and services of bank libraries with particular reference to Kano and Kaduna States. This is with a view to offering some suggestions on how such problems could be overcomed in order to enhance the services of the bank libraries. The work is divided into six (6) chapters. The first chapter deals with the problems of the study. The second chapter treats the historical background of the libraries under-study. The third chapter reviewed those related literature to the study. While the fourth chapter provides the various methodologies used for the study. While in chapters five and six the analysis of data, and summary of findings, conclusions and recommendations were made respectively. To gather the data necessary for this study three instruments were used. These were questionnaires, interviews and direct observations. The questionnaires were of two types. Questionnaire 'A' was administered on the Librarians heading the bank libraries, while Questionnaire 'B' was administered on the users of the libraries randomly selected. The Librarians heading the libraries were in addition subjected to interviews after completing the questionnaires. Direct observations were also made on the Various environments of the libraries studied. The population for the study consisted of all the bank libraries in the two States. From which a sample of five (5) bank libraries were selected. Data was gathered, analysed and the findings were later interpreted accordingly. On the basis of these findings the conclusions were drawn. At the end recommendations were made with a view to Improving the collection and services of bank libraries in general.en_US
