Management by objectives concept is a modern managemer. it technique which has not being fully implemented in the management technique of organisation in Nigeria, compared to advanced countries like united State of America (USA) where (MBO) has being practiced for decades. Management by objectives has undergone many changes, it has been used in performance appraisal, as an instrument for motivating individuals, and, recently in strategic planning. But there are still other managerial subsystems that can be integrated into the MBO process; these include design of organisational structure, portfolio management, management development, career development, compensation programmes and budgeting, Data were collected through personal interview of some senior officers of the bank with the help of some staff, it was discovered that management by objectives is being partially implemented in UBA. It was also observed that because of frequent changes in policy of the organisation subordinates that supposed to partake in the formulation of objectives that should be accomplished are not being given this chance. Therefore, objectives are set foy the top management level and send down to lower manager to be accomplished. However, it was recommended that, as a way of motivation, top management should incorporate the managers at different level of the organisation in setting objectives to be achieved by them. Also, motivation, interms of other incentives that car, make staff have a sense of belonging to the organisation was also recommended. It is hoped that it will serve as a spring board for further researches in related fields,en_US
