It is the duly of every Government to maintain law and order among it's citizens. To provide the necessary infrastructures which includes among others Education, Health, Pipe borne water, Electricity, Good drainage system, sewages c.t.c. The question is how does the Government get revenue to meet all these requirements. Generally, Government generates it's revenue for public utilization from a number of sources, internally and externally. With regards to our situation the greatest drawback to our developmental efforts has not only been the inadequacy of revenue generation sources, but the lack of properly established strategics for effective revenue collection and administration. Really with the current socio-economic and political dispensation in the country, the need to look for a more effective and efficient modalities for revenue generation and utilization for community development cannot be over emphasized. The existing methods for revenue generation and utilization has been analyzed and found to be grossly inadequate and insufficient to meet the present day government requirements for funds for the ever expanding public expenditure ( e.g. the minimum wage rigmarole) .A detailed analysis of the data collected is carried out and a lot of findings regarding inefficient performance and solutions to the problems of the various sources are made .Reliable suggestions for in-depth revenue generation and utilization for community development are put forward which may possibly benefit Government policy makers and implementers.en_US
