Abstract
ABSTRACT The " Vocative in Arabic grammar and its modes in the Holy Qur'an" The Thesis is a four chapter study. Chapter one deals with the evolution of Arabic grammar, its founder, the aims and objectives of learning it with special emphasis on the historical background of some grammar schools at Baghdad Basra, Kufa and Andalus. Chapter two contains modes of vocative and its position in Arabic language, while chapter three and four articulate the miracle of the Holy Qur'an and its characteristics of vocative including a critical analysis of the model and diagram of vocative in the Holy Qur'an. From here I concluded that the Holy Qur'an is a book of mankind guiding him for his religion and social life as a whole, simply because the vocative appears in sixty three chapters of the Holy Qur'an out of one hundred and fourteen (114) Chapters, all of them guiding human beings to his welfare and struggle for existance.
