The research is a study of 'CONFLICT MANAGEMENT IN THE MIDDLE EAST" with special reference to (he Oslo Peace accord. The study however consolidated on books, journals, magazines and newspapers. By using context analysis of secondary sources, it was found out that really the bone of contention between the Israelis and Palestinians is land. First, Israelis seemed to 'save had a foresight right from the beginning, they were a dispersed people until such a time that, they devoted themselves for championing a cause of returning to Palestine which according to them was designated by God to them. As a result, pressure was mounted and the British decided to issue the Belfour Declaration culminating into a Jewish State in Palestine which was against the wishes and desires of the Palestinian people, actually the British offered a gift of what did not belong to them, whereby problems and conflicts emanated from there. The findings also reveals that even after the mandate, the super power(s) tried to mediate between the contending factions for peace. Resolutions strategies of United States especially has continued to seek for a lasting peace in the area. viii It was then concluded that, with the new leadership in Israel now, the peace process should hasten up so that the Palestinian people too will have their total autonomy in Middle East, and declare a Palestinian State. ixen_US
