dc.description.abstractABSTRACT The research discusses prose particularly; prose is a genre amidst other genres of Hausa modern literature that encompasses poetry and drama. The research examines position of robbery in three selected Hausa novels. The meaning of the word robbery (fashi) was fully explained and the origin of robbery (fashi) was traced from the Hausa traditional setting. The work has identified robbery as a phenomenon, but yet a traditional occupation in Hausa community which authors write novels among other phenomena that affects the society. This work studies three novels, identifies various manifestations of robbery and the technicalities employ in the execution of robbery including the types of arms used.en_US
