Abstract
Development Finance Institutions are the nerve-centre of socio-economic development of any nation. These institutions are speciallised in employing local talents both in terms of material and labour to chart out patterns for development. It is in view of this fact that, this study is conducted to appraise their performances in the World in general and in Nigeria and Katsina State in particular. Due to one reason or another, these institutions are marginalised in Nigeria. Therefore, recommendations are given at the end of the study highlighting ways of improving their performances, if Nigeria is at all zealous to quench the quest for development.
