Abstract
ABSTRACT Nigeria's technological and Managerial development depend highly on the quality of the product of the higher institution of learning in the country and teaching in such institutions has untill recently been a Job of pride to all those engaged in it. in the same vain, the Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri has been the major supplier of middle level manpower in Borno State. This trend however has been threaten by the high rate of teachers leaving the institution recently. The cause of such turnover has been attributed to Low pay, poor staff welfare, discrimination and favouratism. The process of employing the staff is howver good and without any shortcoming. The remaining teachers in the institution remain to serve simply because they don't have alternatives in private Organizations otherwise they would have left. It is therefore necessary to improve the situation before it gets out of hand.
