Abstract
The goal of an organization is to maximize production, one of the ways of achieving this goal is to have efficient staff. It is therefore necessary for such organizations to channel its resources towards training and development of its staff In other words, staff training and development is the key to increased production. This study deals with the effect of training and development on productivity. A Case Study of Peugeot Automobile Nig. Ltd. It deals with the various methods and procedures for effective training in PAN Ltd. Training and Development of staff should be given priority by any organization which aspires to such benefits as these:- - Provision of a pool of skilled manpower. - Improvement of existing skills, improvement of job performance and increased motivation of staff The differences between Education and Training were discussed in the Study. The different types of training system in PAN Ltd. were elaborated; They arc: Technical, Management, Computer and External Training. Training and Development is of great importance and no doubt an area of wide Scope of Study which needs careful attention by every organisation. The Study reviews the importance and the need for training and development in PAN Ltd., and how effective it is being put into practice.
