Data was analysed using percentages, tables and the chi square. The findings revealed that. (1) The lecturers and students used the library either occasionally or at least daily. (2) Books constitute the major source of information in the library. (3) Most of the lecturers and students were not involved in the selection of information resources to be acquired into the library. (5) Non-involvement in selection process, lack of information on availability of information resources and lack of recently published materials were the major reasons for redundancy. (6) Lecturers and students should be adequately informed of the availability of materials in the library by displaying recently acquired information resources. (7) Only recently published information resources should be acquired into the library so as to reduce or eliminate redundancy of the library collection.
