dc.description.abstractAgriculture in any nation plays a vital role as the backbone and foundation economy. It constitutes a basic economic unit making significant impact on the Gross Domestic Product, GDP, of a developing country as Nigeria. It forms a reflection of the Socio-Economic status of majority of the populace involved in it. Majority of the operators of this sector is non-literate peasants with little finance and has small holding. They deserve special attention to ensure higher productivity and aggregate production to be able to stimulate and reinforce the secondary and tertiary sectors of our economy. A major constraints experienced by the farmer are finance and management. Finance when obtained deserve effective management which is routed in efficient management of all operating resources of the farmer which otherwise have financial values. This research investigates these resources with a view of appreciating their impact on high productivity and efficient use and management of finance. Chapter One briefly looks at all aspects of the study while chapter two reflects a very elaborate and expansive literature review. The essence of this, being to point all operational aspects of management with probable impact on agricultural business and finance. This also enables the researcher to draw up questionnaires for detailed study. Issues investigated with the help of questionnaires A and B help in drawing relationships with productivity and invested finance. Chapter Three looks at how the primary and secondary data collected are to be processed for useful information. The research methodology to be used, suggests both a descriptive and prescriptive approach. Jn Chapter Four data from the questionnaires are analysed and impact relationships drawn for conclusion. Finally, the findings from the analysis and relationship of the technical and other issues to the efficient utilisation of finance in this chapter arc used to make conclusions and recommendations in Chapter Fiveen_US
