dc.description.abstractABSTRACT In every organization, strategic planning is of paramount importance because it helps in defining the mission of organizations; give direction and focus to activities. As a result, organizations function better. Because managers are planners, organizers and controllers of the organization, strategic planning function is vested on management of every organization. The aim of this study however, is to examine strategic planning in organizations and the role management plays in adopting the best strategic planning in achieving the organizational goal. The study has Habib Bank Limited (commercial bank) as its case study. It discussed the organizational structure of the bank, a brief history of the bank, and organization for planning at the bank and management function of the bank. Above all, the study investigates and analyses how Habib Bank Limited operates and institutionalize its strategies and the role management plays in institutionalizing and implementing these strategies. Conclusively, the entire study centers on strategic planning and the role of management in planning. For every organization to achieve its goals, it must have an efficient plan. This planning is nobody's job but the manager's.en_US
