This study appraises the World Bank financing on Agricultural Development w i t h specific references to Kaduna and Katsina States Agricultural Development Projects. Established in 1985, KADP which gave birth to KTARDA in 1987 as offshoot of Funtua Agricultural Project was established to increase agricultural productivity and to improve the standard of living of rural dwellers. The study found that the end does not justify the means, that is, the amount borrowed (externally) did not reflect the work done, largely due to neglect on the part of government as a result of lack of proper planning and supervision, as one of the attributes of most World Bank projects in the developing countries. However, with little attention, honest agreement and dedication, the World Bank loans or any other external loans can be made to be useful and viable.en_US
