Abstract
ABSTRACT This research work seeks to ascertain the level of influence the International Community had in Nigeria's Democratic Struggle 1993-98. The research is based on content analysis i.e. analysis of available relevant documents like journals, magazines, bulletins, gazettes and periodicals. It was discovered that the international community had actually contributed significantly in the process of democratisation in Nigeria. Equally of note is the internal struggle which kept mounting substantial pressure of the military to democratise. The solution to international pressure and sanctions was finally identified and upon implementation Nigeria regained its prominence in the committee of nations and its sub-regional prowess reactivated.
