Abstract
A B S T R A C T This study sets out to determine attitudes toward the i n i t i a t i o n of guidance services in post primary schools in Ondo State of Nigeria. The study has surveyed the post primary institutions in the State, collected relevant data from forms four and five students, administrators of schools, government officials, teachers and parents to exploit the possibility of i n i t i a t i ng guidance services in the St-ate. The study sets out with questions vhich have been answered and deal with the attitudes of administrators of schools in Ondo State to the scheme of i n i t i a t i n g guidance services; the attitudes of the students, the teachers, the public and the parents; and the government about providing funds. The r e s u l t s were analysed by the use of percentages for the opinion poll and as expressed in the questionnaires. This showed a high positive support toward i n i t i a t i ng guidance services in Ondo State. The government, too, is willing to provide funds to establish the scheme. It is therefore recommended to set up some machinery in the Ministry of Education, Akure, Ondo State to work out the d e t a i l s of the programme,
