Abstract
This research work entitled ―Nazarin Jam‘intawa a Guddiranci‖ examines the peculiarity of
pluralization processes by affixation in Guddiri dialect as oppose to Standard Hausa and of
course some other Hausa dialects. Primary sources of the data collection, such as interviews,
active and passive observation techniques, and secondary sources of data collection, such as
thesis, textbooks and projects were employed in the generation of all the data of the research
work. Descriptive linguistic theory, using Abubakar (2001) model, was carefully used in
analysing the available data. The work was fully able to discover some peculiar inflectional
processes in Guddiri dialect plural formation as opposed to Standard Hausa usage. These
peculiar processes are thus: the research established that the phonological processes such as
palatalization, depalatalization and labialization played a vital role in Guddiri dialect plural
formation, whereby mid and back vowel /u/ comes immediately after the alveolar unlike the
front vowels of palatalization and depalatalization of Standard Hausa plural forms. The research
also established that the open syllable of some words in Standard Hausa become closed syllable
in Guddiri pluralisation, as in ‗damaatsaa —> ‗damtsootsii.
