It was also found that users of contraceptives have a higher approval and acceptance of contraceptive than non users. The following conclusions therefore were made based on the findings of this study: (a) Majority of the respondents showed negative altitudes towards contraception and the Federal Governments' Population Policy on birth control in Kaduna Metropolis. (b) The Hausa and the Fulani as well as the Muslim groups displayed the least approval for the use of contraception and the National Population Policy on birth control. (c) Education has some positive effects on the attitudes of' respondents towards contraception and the National Population on birth control. Based on the findings and these conclusions, the following main recommendations are made: (1) To reduce or eliminate the negative attitudes of the people, all birth control clinic should have counselling units attached to them with trained counsellors. (2) The Federal, State and Local governments should work with community and Islamic leaders who will educate the populace on the need for birth control. (3) Since education has been shown to have some positive effects on contraception, governments at various levels should ensure that family life and sexuality education are made part of the school curriculum at all levels.en_US
