Abstract
Organisations whether private or public at times undergo changes. The changes arise as a result of many factors which can include business diversification, transfer of place of existence to a more potential environment, new technological innovation, etc. As a result of the economic situation in Nigeria, Government organisations faced commercialisation or privatisation changes. Organisational changes as highlighted pose a challenge on the management in ensuring that inputs of an organisation, i.e. human and material resources are geared towards coping with the change abound. The research study is therefore "management of organisational changes"; a case study of WRECA, Kano. The research selected WRECA as his case study because the organisation which was established since 1974 thus, thus over two decades ago started as a small organisation and grew to become the biggest parastatal owned by Kano State Government. The change which the organisation faced and the focal point of this research, is the policy decision taken by Government which is re-orienting WRECA from a social service (non-profit making) organisation to commercial oriented (profit-making) organisation. The research finding is therefore showing vividly how the management of WRECA tackles the change in its function of harnessing human and material resources for the achievement of the new objective. In conclusion, the procedure to be followed for the collection of the relevant data for this study are personal interview, written records and through questionnaires
